Cleaning Instructions
The cleaning of your card printer is very important and should be done systematically. It is the only way to ensure good printing quality and print head longevity. Please follow these recommendations and instructions at each ribbon change.
Step 1: Duster
During any cleaning cycle or anytime in between cleanings that you can see debris present inside of the printer, use the can of air to gently blow it away. Then complete a cleaning procedure.
Step 2: Double Sided Adhesive Cleaning Cards
- Remove the card input hopper and ribbon carrier and set it aside.
- Peel the protective paper backing from both sides of the printer cleaning card.
- Insert the printer cleaning card near the bottom of the card input hopper cavity.
Start a cleaning cycle by doing one of the following:
- Click the OK button when the printer driver displays the "printer requires cleaning" message.
(If you do not click OK, the message appears each time you print a card, until you use the printer cleaning card.) - Open the Status dialog box by double-clicking the printer icon, (on the desktop, lower right).
Click the Printer button in the Clean area.
